Your cat should always have fresh water available.
*TIP: For cats that are sensitive to urine with an increased pH, a pure struvite diet is necessary (See Control Cat) to counteract the problem. A special diet is used to try to lower the pH of the urine so that crystals are less likely to form. Our Organic beef menu is not a pure struvite diet but a product that can be given alongside a struvite diet, partly due to its low phosphorus/magnesium content and high moisture. No food can guarantee that struvite formation can be completely prevented.
Wet food is often recommended to help prevent crystal formation. With more moisture, the cat will urinate more frequently, allowing any remaining crystals to be expelled. By feeding wet food, the cat automatically gets more moisture intake.
