Where are Metazoa products made?
Our products are carefully manufactured in the Netherlands, in accordance with strict quality and hygiene standards.
Why does BalanceFit have a different calcium-phosphorus ratio than standard feed?
BalanceFit is a supplement or balancer, so you only feed a small amount of it in addition to roughage. The recommended calcium-phosphorus ratio of 2:1 applies to the total ration (roughage + supplementary feed). Because most roughage in the Netherlands and Belgium contains relatively high levels of phosphorus and often too little calcium, extra calcium has been added to BalanceFit. In this way, the supplement corrects the ration towards the correct balance.
Important to know: horses absorb calcium in the large intestine, where there is a natural limit. An excess is therefore less easily absorbed, while a deficiency can cause health problems.
Isn’t the iron content in Metazoa products too high?
No. The iron content in our feed is deliberately tailored to current scientific insights. Because there is no exact iron requirement for horses yet, we apply safe guidelines based on practical experience and literature.
In practice, excess iron rarely comes from food, but rather from spring or ditch water. These contain iron in a form that is easily absorbed. Our products remain well within safe margins and contribute to a balanced diet.
