Note: Safety is one of the advantages of a breaker halter over a nylon halter. They are designed to break under extreme pressure, i.e. if a horse pulls back when it is tied or if the halter becomes caught on a fence or a fixed object. This normally occurs at the point of the control rings and can prevent serious injury.
