Peat Feed is a natural substance that comes from the soil. It is created from plant debris that entered stagnant water thousands of years ago. Think flowers, herbs, grasses and fruits. Over time, these plant residues have broken down and compressed. What remains is a dark, lobbly peat.
What is special about peatrenk is its origin: it is extracted from a subfossil layer in Austria, where the peat has been completely sealed under sand and rock for some 7,000 years. It often sits at a depth of a few meters. Thanks to natural preservation, the it is pure and stable. No additives or chemicals are used; peat pellets are a purely natural product.
Why is it good?
Peat soak naturally contains a wide variety of organic substances and minerals, such as silica. During the ripening process, humic acids, fulvic acids and other compounds that can bind to other substances are formed.
Humic acids are organic compounds formed during the decomposition of plant material in peat, compost or soil. They bind to other substances there and thereby clean up the mess, so to speak. Humic acids do not dissolve in water.
Fulvic acids are similar and also bind to other substances in the soil, but the molecules are smaller and they do dissolve in water.
Natuly Peat Soak contains no binders, flavor enhancers or preservatives.
