Horses suffering from laminitis need a carefully adjusted diet to support recovery and prevent further problems. Laminitis is a painful inflammation of the hoof laminae, often caused by a metabolic disturbance, such as in EMS, IR or PPID. Nutrition plays a crucial role here: the horse should receive roughage with a low sugar and starch content (low NSC value), such as soaked hay, possibly supplemented with Coolstance Copra.
