PPID did not seem to exist in the past. A horse aged 15+ simply developed age-related ailments that worsened as it grew older. Sometimes, such a senior horse was lucky and the veterinarian thought of what we then called Cushing’s disease.

He combines his extensive practical experience with a passion for providing clear information, enabling horse owners to better understand, prevent, and treat common problems. After previous books on laminitis and navicular syndrome, he devoted himself entirely to PPID with Het PPID-boek (The PPID Book).
