Not a reissue of the old Groundwork book, but a completely new book! In Inge Teblick’s original Groundwork book, ropes were still being waved around (gently, but still). Not in this book: Groundwork 2.0. has been completely rewritten, because best practice in training evolves. Inge explains the basic exercises of clicker training, so that you have all the pieces of the puzzle to put together your own step-by-step plans. Easy to read, practical, ethical, intuitive and with a big heart for horses.
All exercises are explained in detail: not only how to do them, but also what they are good for. Each exercise is introduced with a piece to think about, to fit the exercise into a larger whole, and is then explained step by step, sometimes in more than one way.
In between, a few practical principles are also explained.
Towards the end of the book, you will increasingly be able to figure out for yourself how to get things done.
The book contains lots of photos of different trainers with the willing cooperation of their supercalifragilisticexpialidocious horses, showing you step by step how to get started with the exercises.
This book is an excellent introduction to clicker training, prepares you for the deeper thinking of “Thinking” and “Riding”, and also lays (part of) the necessary foundation for practical riding in Riding.
