Complete, premium and natural cat food developed for adult cats to support the urinary tract (struvite*: struvite bladder grit and struvite bladder stones) and in cases of obesity (e.g. sterilisation). High proportion of animal proteins and low fat content. With prebiotics FOS (inulin). Contains an adjusted mineral ratio and is wheat-free. High acceptance and digestibility. Supports the urinary tract, is very suitable for overweight cats and reduces hairball formation. Low magnesium content and urine-acidifying properties. Developed to control urine pH (towards <6.5). Tip: Combining wet and dry food provides variety and a balanced diet. This can be done by mixing them, but they can also be given separately. For example, kibble in the morning and wet food in the evening. For cats, we recommend not mixing kibble and wet food.

Feeding Guide

*PLEASE NOTE: There are several possible causes of bladder grit (struvite: small crystals) and stones (large crystals, kidney and bladder stones) in cats. Kidney and bladder stones require separate treatment. Bladder grit is very common in cats. The most common types of bladder grit in cats are struvite and oxalate. Oxalate stones and oxalate grit, which we encounter in both the kidneys and bladder, cannot be resolved with diet. Surgery is often recommended in these cases. Struvite can be treated with diet. The pH of the urine is an important factor in the possible formation of grit. The normal pH of cat urine is between 6 and 6.5. A lower pH (and therefore a higher acidity) can lead to oxalate formation. Alkaline urine, with a pH above 7.2, can cause struvite formation. This is one of the reasons why feeding struvite food to an animal with oxalate grit can actually worsen the symptoms. Control Urinary Cat is a food specially developed for struvite bladder grit and struvite stones. Wet food is often recommended to prevent crystal formation as much as possible. By feeding wet food, the cat automatically consumes more fluid and will urinate more, allowing any remaining crystals to be flushed out. Our Bio Beef Menu for cats is not a pure struvite diet, but a product that can be given alongside a struvite diet due to its low phosphorus/magnesium content and high moisture content. Tip: You can give 30 grams less Control kibble if you give a whole 100g pouch of Bio Beef Menu.

Our Control Urinary food has been developed to support urinary health and reduce the risk of struvite formation, but it does not guarantee that struvite can be prevented 100%.
