The amount of feed should be adjusted according to the season, age and daily energy requirements of your horse or pony.
Special recommendations:
Pour 1 part feed with 1 part water and soak for 15 min before feeding. This prevents the risk of oesophageal blockage in horses that do not chew their feed sufficiently, in horses with poor teeth and in horses that eat their feed too quickly, resulting in insufficient salivation. If the feed is made wet, the stalks and leaf parts absorb water again and also increase the palatability of the feed.
If you want to make a real mash , you can pour over 1 part feed with 2 to 3 parts water.
Always provide plenty of clean drinking water at the feeding station.
