My horse is quick to heat up/sensitive

Vitalbix Active+ is ideal for horses that are quick to heat up/sensitive. Active+ contains only 8% starch and 3% sugar and a high proportion of fibre (22%) and fats (8.5%). This means that Active+ mainly provides slow-release energy. Active+ has a low glycaemic index and has little effect on blood sugar levels (no major spikes in blood sugar). Vitalbix Active+ provides manageable energy for a relaxed and supple horse!

My horse has a sensitive stomach

It is important to feed your horse sufficient roughage (hay and grass) throughout the day and night to keep its digestive system healthy. Ensure that your horse does not go without roughage for longer than 4-6 hours. In the case of stomach ulcers, this should be no longer than 2 hours, preferably unlimited.

Products with a high starch and sugar content (> 15%) can have a negative effect on the pH in the stomach (lowering the pH in the stomach). For horses with a sensitive stomach, therefore, it is preferable to choose feed with a starch and sugar content of less than 15%.

All Vitalbix products are high in fibre and contain a maximum of 11% starch and sugar.

For extra fibre, mix a scoop of Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+ into the Vitalbix Active+ or Vitalbix Daily Complete pellets. The alfalfa stimulates chewing and saliva production and has a buffering effect on the pH in the stomach.

As an extra, you can feed 1-2 portions of Vitalbix NutriMash grain-free mash daily.
